And The Boy Turns One...

Whoever came up with the phrase, "time flies" really wasn't kidding. Buddy is now an entire year old and it just doesn't seem possible. I've been spending the last couple of weeks going through photos and videos from his birth to now and I just can't believe how much he's grown and changed in such a short amount of time.

We celebrated his birthday Saturday with family and had a really good time. The weather was against us, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves.

The doppler image from my computer is a little blurry, but take a look at what the weather was like on Saturday just as the party was supposed to start. (Can you tell that things weren't pretty?)

I had just planted a new garden in front of our porch and the rain did its best to wash it all away.

Buddy got his first taste of birthday cake and didn't appear to be a fan.

The birthday boy didn't get the whole "opening gifts" thing, but he is certainly enjoying his new toys. He especially enjoyed playing with his cousins at the party.

Thanks to all of our family that came to spend time with Buddy on his birthday!! It really was a special day.

Accomplishments for the month:
-He can click his tongue
-He'll push food away when he doesn't want it
-He can now say: Mama, Dada, Cracker, Hi, Shoes and Car (though cracker is his standby word for about everything.)
-If you ask him where his ball, lion, duck or book are, he can find each one.
-If you ask him if he wants to "go read books" he gets very excited.
-He can stand on his own and does this often without realizing it.
-He can drink from a straw on his own and he does well with finger foods
